Atsko sent me an 8-ounce bottle of N-O-DOR and a 32-ounce refill bottle, including the required activator powder. The label on the bottle suggests that N-O-DOR destroys all odors on skin, hair, mouth, clothing, footwear, and gear. It also suggests that N-O-DOR does this without the use of cover scent and without leaving a sticky residue. Once activated, N-O-DOR chemically destroys all odor molecules by the process of natural oxidation, which breaks down and changes chemical compounds into odorless, inert substances.
You are familiar with the fact that chlorine destroys odor and bacteria. Chlorine is an oxidizer. Oxidizers combine with organic compounds and change them to non-volatile salts. The change is permanent and they no longer smell. The problem with chlorine is it has its own odor, but Atsko uses an oxidizer that was developed for the food industry. It has no odor of its own, but like chlorine it permanently destroys all odor caused by organic compounds and is safe for use on your skin, hair, clothing, and even your mouth.
According to the manufacturer: ‘N-O-DOR spray deodorizes clothing, hair, skin, and all wetable surfaces quickly and safely. It does so by permanently oxidizing all organic molecules into odorless, non-volatile compounds. N-O-DOR does not mask odors, it completely destroys them. The unique packaging assures absolute freshness with economy and ease of use. With N-O-DOR you are able to remain scent-free all day. N-O-DOR works equally well on pet accidents, bathrooms, nurseries, and vehicles.’
– Evaluation –
In order to use this product, you must add one half-gram pack of activator powder (included) to the 8-ounce bottle of N-O-DOR and shake briefly to mix. Each time I head to my stand, I spray my skin, hair, clothing, boots and gear prior to entering the woods.
N-O-DOR does not leave the black or white, and sometimes sticky, residue that many odor-elimination products create. The product is easy to use, and has a shelf life of four years prior to activation, and up to 6 months once you’ve added the activator powder.
My suggestion is that you only activate an 8-ounce bottle and use that up before you mix another, this will keep the activated product as fresh as possible for your hunting season.
I found that N-O-DOR works as advertised; at least it has thus far in my early hunting season. I used N-O-DOR on my clothing, pack, and boots during my early season hunts, and on opening day I harvested a fully mature doe that crossed my footpath to my treestand without detecting my human scent. I have since had other whitetails downwind of me with no detection. I used scent elimination clothing, but the N-O-DOR spray gives me that added confidence that I am as scent free as I can be. The proof for me that this product works is found in the results I’ve had thus far.
This mature doe walked right over my footpath, but never knew I was there.
